What it’s like to work with me

Tony was my manager at FloQast, where he stood out as a rare kind of engineering leader who is both deeply technical and genuinely people first. He leads as a true servant leader, which is especially difficult when managing a distributed team. He balanced giving us clear goals with trust in our ability to execute without micromanagement.

As a coder himself, Tony steered the DevOps team to consistently improved reliability, delivery speed, and cost efficiency without creating burnout. We trusted him, followed his lead, and did our best work because of it.

Any company looking for a hands on, servant minded engineering leader would be lucky to have Tony.

What can I say that hasn’t already been said about Tony. He’s a great, empathetic leader who truly understands what it takes to build and maintain a thriving team. I had the pleasure of working with him at FloQast for over two and a half years. I had the privilege of closely working with Tony when I first became and Engineering Manger at CallRail. My transition into this position was amazing because of the support and the mentorship that Tony provided to me!

I was given the opportunity to grow and create my own style as to how I would manage my teams while under his leadership, and I went from managing one team to two teams. I don't think that I would have had the confidence to take on such a task if it were not for Tony's encouragement and guidance.

On countless occasions, I've been impressed with his ability to manage stressful situations and facilitate communication in groups containing big personalities who can dominate a dialogue, more introverted people who have great ideas but might hesitate to speak up, and everyone in between.
